OVERVIEW
The Dobot CR3A, the entry point to Dobot's CRA series, is a compact collaborative robot (cobot) with 6 joints, 3 kg payload, and max. reach of 620 mm.
What makes the Dobot CR3A special is that you can expect high precision (±0.02 mm) and industrial-level manipulation in a 16.5 kg device with a small footprint while remaining safe to deploy in tight workspaces. It is designed to deliver a high joint speed of 223°/s, while it comes with 5 levels of adjustable collision detection and human-contact safety functions.
DOBOT CR3A VARIATIONS:
The Dobot CR3A has 2 different versions:
- Dobot CR3A - The main version.
- Dobot CR3AS - Comes with SafeSkin, a contactless collision-detection technology and extra safety measurements for efficient human-machine collaboration.
- Dobot CR3AP - IP68: The protected version, built for harsh environments with dust, humidity, water mist, or oil contamination.
DOBOT CR3A ROBOT ARM IS GREAT FOR:
- Lab & research automation: A popular platform for university labs and R&D due to its compact size and open SDK
- Pick & place / packaging: Sorting, kitting, and end-of-line packaging or case packing
- Assembly: Precise fastening, component insertion, and small-parts assembly
- Machine tending: Loading and unloading CNC machines and other equipment
- Dispensing & gluing: Consistent, repeatable dispensing paths
- Quality inspection: Camera-guided inspection and sorting task
- Light retail automation: Beverage handling and similar low-payload retail scenarios
DOBOT CR3A FEATURES
- Fast, Efficient Motion: Integrated joints and an advanced motion control algorithm boost cycle times by up to 25% and cut residual vibration by 50% during high-speed emergency stops, with a max TCP speed of 2 m/s
- High Precision: ±0.02 mm repeatability suitable for demanding pick-and-place and assembly work
- Easy Programming - Multiple Ways In: DobotStudio Pro graphical interface, drag-to-teach/hand guiding, Blockly block programming, Lua scripting, and a Python SDK, plus control from PC, tablet, or smartphone
- Built For Integration: Supports Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Wi-Fi, with 24 I/O ports and dual industrial Ethernet ports for straightforward integration into existing lines
- Dual-Channel End-Effector Design: An industry-first feature on the CR3A that lets it connect directly to multiple end tools
- Strong Safety Foundation: 22 built-in safety functions including 5-level adjustable collision detection, certified to ISO 13849 and TS15066 for safe human-robot collaboration
